Martha Lynn Gordon of Selmer was crowned Miss Pickwick Electric Cooperative. The 4-H club group were members of the Chewalla Club. These young boys and girls received leadership training through the program that was conducted by the Tennessee Extension Service. In the 1960’s PEC had an incentive program for our members called adequate wiring. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Phillips and family of Milledgeville enjoy their adequate wired home. Mr. Everette Brown is shown stocking his country store located on Highway 142 in the Stantonville Community. In 1963 Garan, Inc., of Adamsville, manufacturers of sports shirts had 534 employees. Perry Perkins operates the cutting machine as Supervisor James Williams looks on. In the sixty’s PEC honored area schools valedictorians and salutatorians as it still does today. In 1964 Clarabelle Floyd and Elsie Strickland of McNairy High School were honored for their academic acheivements. During the sixty’s there were numerous cotton gins located in the PEC service area.
